The following rules have been established for the pitch competition.
(Organizers reserve the right to amend/add rules in advance of the competition. Any changes will be communicated with registered competitors as well as judges in advance of pitch day.)
Businesses that have been operational over 3 years are not eligible to compete. This is a competition for start-ups.
Pitches must be 4 minutes or less; each pitch will be immediately followed by 2 minutes for judge questions. Visual presentations (powerpoints, graphics, etc) to supplement pitches are encouraged.
Non-winning competitors from the 2017 and 2018 competitions are eligible to compete again.
Online registration: Competitors are required to register online prior to pitch day. No “walk up” competitors. A registration deadline will be announced soon.
Competitors will be given the opportunity to select a time slot to present their pitch. No trading or shifting of time slots after Thursday, October 10. If a time slot is not selected by the competitor, one will be assigned.
Removal from the competition – If for any reason you need to remove yourself from the competition, we ask to be notified as soon as possible in order to fill your pitch position with someone else. Day-of dropouts are logistically very difficult for organizers. Please sign up to compete only if you intend to pitch.
